Welcome to Respectra. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our adventure events, activities, expeditions, camps and related services. By registering for or participating in any Respectra event, you agree to abide by these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not participate.

1. Eligibility & Participation

1.1. Age Requirement – You must be at least 18 years old to participate in any Individual Respectra event. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

If you are below the required age you will have to present a waiver from your biological parents and or guardian to participate in adolescent expeditions or be attending the Father+Son days.

1.2. Personal Responsibility – You acknowledge that Respectra events involve mild and extreme physical, mental, and environmental challenges. You must ensure that you are in adequate health and fitness to participate as stipulated on the website mission brief.

1.3. Compliance with Event Rules – Participants must comply with all event guidelines, instructions from Respectra personnel, guides, instructors and applicable laws. Failure to follow these rules may result in immediate removal from the event without a refund.

2. Assumption of Risk & Waiver of Liability

2.1. Inherent Risks – You acknowledge and accept that Respectra events involve activities that carry significant risks, including but not limited to:

Physical injuries (e.g., fractures, concussions, muscle strains, cardiovascular injuries).
Environmental hazards (e.g., extreme weather conditions, rough terrain).
Psychological stress (e.g., confrontational scenarios, high-pressure tasks).
Unforeseen accidents (e.g., collisions, falls, equipment malfunctions).

2.2. Voluntary Participation – By participating, you voluntarily accept all risks and assume full responsibility for any personal injury, loss, or damage that may occur.

2.3. Liability Release – To the maximum extent permitted by law, you waive and release Respectra, its employees, agents, sponsors, and affiliates from any claims, demands, damages, or legal actions arising out of your participation, except in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

2.4. No Insurance Coverage – Respectra does not provide health, accident, disability, or liability insurance. You are solely responsible for obtaining any necessary insurance coverage before participation. For Expeditions we recommend utilising specialist insurance coverage such as Global rescue who specialise in high altitude extractions (Respectra is not affiliated with GR or any other Insurance cover providers)

2.5. Public Liability Insurance – Respectra will comply with required laws by having the adequate public liability insurance to the emirates or country they are holding their events in.

2.5. No Refunds or Chargebacks – All fees paid for events are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances, including injury, illness, or personal reasons.

3. Medical Treatment & Emergency Situations

3.1. Medical Clearance – You confirm that you have no medical conditions that would make participation unsafe. If required, you must provide a physician’s clearance before joining an event.

3.2. Consent to Emergency Medical Care – In case of an emergency, you authorize Respectra to arrange for medical assistance and treatment as necessary. You acknowledge that Respectra is not responsible for the quality, or costs of medical care.

Respectra will ensure to have the appropriate medical support that is specific to the mission.

3.3. Provisions of contact of your Medical coverage- contact details of your Medical and adventure coverage should be shared with the Respectra prior to any expedition.

4. Code of Conduct & Prohibited Activities

4.1. Expected Behaviour – Participants must conduct themselves in a responsible, respectful, and lawful manner.

4.2. Strictly Prohibited Actions – The following activities are strictly forbidden and may result in immediate removal from the event without compensation:

Use of alcohol, drugs, or controlled substances before or during the event.
Disruptive, reckless, or violent behaviour towards staff or participants.
Tampering with event equipment, facilities, or safety measures.
Engaging in unauthorized commercial activity (e.g., promoting other businesses).‍
Sharing confidential event details or trade secrets (see Section 6).

5. Media Release & Use of Likeness

5.1. Photography & Video Recording – Respectra events may be recorded for promotional, educational, or commercial purposes.

5.2. Usage Rights – By participating, you grant Respectra and its affiliates a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to use your image, likeness, and voice in any media without further notice or compensation.

5.3. No Right to Review or Approve – You waive any rights to inspect or approve how your likeness is used.

6. Confidentiality & Trade Secrets

6.1. Protection of Business Information – Participants may be exposed to Respectra’s proprietary methodologies, business strategies, and operational insights. You agree:

Not to disclose, reproduce, or distribute confidential information.
Not to use proprietary knowledge to create or promote competing events.
Not to engage in any business relationships with Respectra’s clients or partners.

6.2. Legal Consequences – Any breach of this clause may result in legal action, including claims for damages and injunctive relief.

7. Personal Property & Security

7.1. Participant Responsibility – Respectra is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings. Participants should only bring essential items to events.

7.2. Storage & Liability – Any personal items left at event locations are left at your own risk. Respectra is not liable for any theft or damage.

8. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

8.1. Governing Law – These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

8.2. Jurisdiction – Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of UAE courts.

8.3. Legal Costs – In any legal dispute where the validity of these Terms is contested, the losing party shall be responsible for all legal fees.

9. Limitation of Liability

9.1. Exclusion of Indirect Damages – Respectra shall not be liable for:

Loss of income, earnings, or business opportunities.
Emotional distress, reputational harm, or psychological trauma.
Third-party negligence or unforeseen external events.

10. Amendments & Updates

Respectra reserves the right to modify or update these Terms at any time without prior notice. Any changes will be effective upon posting on our official platforms.

11. Acknowledgment & Agreement

By participating in any Respectra event, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions. You further confirm that:

You voluntarily accept all risks associated with participation.
You release Respectra from liability to the maximum extent permitted by law.
You agree not to bring any legal claims against Respectra or its affiliates, except in cases of gross negligence.
